Hope
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.
Isaiah 9:2
Advent begins with hope—the anticipation of light breaking into darkness. For centuries, God’s people waited for the promised Messiah, clinging to the hope that God would fulfill His promise. This hope wasn’t wishful thinking; it was a confident expectation rooted in God’s faithfulness.
When Jesus was born, hope took on flesh. Today, we too wait—this time for Christ’s return, trusting that the same God who fulfilled His promise before will do so again.
Hope anchors us during uncertain times, reminding us that even in life’s darkest moments, God’s light is still shining. In fact, our hope is not something that is coming to pass, but is Someone who is sure to come through.
Whatever it is you face this season, know that we have a faithful God we can fully trust.
What are you hoping for this season, and how can you invite God into that hope?
Jesus, thank You for being the light in our darkness and the hope in our waiting. Help me to trust in You no matter what and to carry Your hope in my heart this season. Amen.
