I can’t wait to…

Newborn stage means my priority this season is feeding my twins. It’s very restrictive for me since I’m used to juggling roles, projects, and tasks on the daily. Plus, I really don’t like it when I’m needed. Even at work my default is to duplicate myself and develop people asap so they don’t need me at all. This frees me up to do what only I can do and to contribute more than required. Obviously, with newborns the mom is literally needed and being behind the nursing pillow is what only I can do this season.

On the other hand, I also love the downtime. In all my 5 maternity leaves including this one, I always felt I get blessed with a paid sabbatical from work sans the difficulties of the first ~6 weeks postpartum.

Right now I’m tandem feeding, enjoying (most days) the nth day full of nothing else but pretty much nursing the twins. At the same time, I also can’t wait for the next seasons ahead when:

  • Our family can travel again—the sooner the better? LOL para sulit ang ML, but where? It needs, to be not too cold, not too hot, and everything should be near our accommodations without much transfers.
  • We can do more activities all 4 kids will enjoy like beach stuff, safaris, Disney (di mawawala hehe), sports, etc.
  • I can dance or do movement exercises. I stopped dancing in 2014 with my first pregnancy and my body hasn’t been looking for it since. These days though, it feels like I want to be able to exercise and get physically in shape again once I can!
  • I can date family more. It feels like I haven’t spent enough time dating my husband, older kids, parents, siblings, and even other relatives. I’d love to do more of that.

“There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬ ‭MSG‬‬

I’m excited for all these! For now, I remind myself to embrace my current season, a God-given slowdown allowing me to focus on what matters most.

Here’s one of my fave pieces back in the day. Can you find me?🙂 (Click image for Youtube video.)
