Posting about their dishes, however, is out of my own personal opinion and recommendation, and is unpaid nor part of my agreement with them. I’ve posted some favorites before:

Florabel’s Roasted Organic Spring Chicken

Felix’s Spicy Tuna Garden Salad

Felix’s Grilled Prawns and Halibut

Florabel’s Strawberry Lemon Soda

That said, when we dined there a few weeks ago, I found another favorite to post about: Sea Bass Miso with Bokchoy! It’s one of those dishes that moves you—you can’t help but close your eyes with each spoonful.

The sea bass is well-cooked—it melts in your mouth! Then, the sweet glaze of the miso sauce is just pure goodness! The bokchoy balances the flavors well so the plate isn’t palatably boring (though, I won’t mind a full plate of just the sea bass miso!). It’s served with their vegetable barley rice that’s also getting more and more popular with their diners.

Florabel, the flagship restaurant of Chef Florabel Co-Yatco, is at the ground floor of Estancia Mall in Capitol Commons. Maybe let’s call it #fridayfaves? Sana I can sustain this though. Haha! Today I’m posting about one of my new found favorite drinks.

Those who know me well know that I loooove nice drinks! I’m always eyeing the menu for refreshing drinks, especially non-alcoholic ones because I can take those even when I get pregnant again or when I start breastfeeding.

We were back at Florabel a few days ago and I stumbled upon their Strawberry Lemon Soda. I just loved the sweet and tangy and fresh taste and couldn’t help but gulp it down! You know when you want to sip so much but you also want to sip less because you want the glass to last? Delectable dilemma right there!

I hope you get the chance to visit Florabel at Estancia Mall, Capitol Commons and try out this drink for yourself. If you love Italian soda, you’ll love this one too!

Full Disclosure: I am currently affiliated with the Florabel Group of Restaurants for web and social media content for their official sites and accounts. Without a skilled chef, it can be easily overcooked, making the fish dry. And because it’s usually on the high price range for a fish entree, I usually don’t order halibut unless I’m certain that it will be cooked perfectly. Yesterday’s visit to Felix gave me just that—perfectly cooked halibut. The skin was light and crispy, and the meat was not dry, with its delicious natural flavor not overpowered by seasoning.

The star of the entree is the halibut, but let me note that the grilled prawns were great too! You can choose either quinoa rice or vegetable barley rice for your complimentary side dish, or substitute the rice with mashed or twice baked potatoes. We had the vegetable barley rice and let me say that it’s a must-try on its own!!!

Felix is located at the ground floor of Greenbelt 5 (near the Catholic church) and is open from 11am to 11pm daily. If you live or work in Makati, you should go visit! The Spicy Tuna Garden Salad easily became their favorite, and their sure-order for their next visit.

The spicy tuna reminded them of tuna carpaccio. Fresh dices of tuna sashimi, a mix of Japanese mayo and wasabi, and tempura crisps all rolled into spoonfuls of deliciousness!

At the center of the plate is a garden salad—mixed greens with fresh fruits drizzled with sesame dressing, which was a nice summery treat.

I think it’s everybody’s favorite at Felix, and is definitely one of mine, too!

Full Disclosure: I am currently affiliated with the Florabel Group of Restaurants for web and social media content for their official sites and accounts. For one, in the Marasigan home, our Monday to Friday meals are almost always chicken! This health choice enables us to eat pretty much anything on weekends. Secondly, how can chicken be any different?

Tonight, we had the privilege of trying Florabel‘s Roasted Organic Spring Chicken. Apparently, chicken can be fancy and it IS different! The chicken is SO juicy and tender, and the flavor is oozing from skin to bone! (if we can, we’d eat the bones too! haha!) We equally loved the subtle crisp of the skin and how delicious it was!!! Pao couldn’t help but close his eyes especially on that first bite! It’s served with Mushroom Truffle Rice that’s oh-so-good, and sauce that goes so well with the chicken and rice! The chicken is good for two but you’ll have to order another cup of rice.

So, if you’re in the Capitol Commons area, make sure you dine in at Florabel and try this dish. You can pair it with anything from their drinks menu (try their different iced teas!!!).

Full Disclosure: I am currently affiliated with the Florabel Group of Restaurants for web and social media content for their official sites and accounts.
